Holiday 2012 Vendor Feature: AUTUMN & EVERYTHING AFTER

Autumn & Everything After
shop

Kasey is the creative brain behind Autumn & Everything After. You may have heard of people refer to her as “The Burlap Lady.” All of her items are great for accessorizing any home, office, party or fun-loving girl! She creates fun, one-of-a-kind accessories for all seasons, event and occasions. From hand-painted banners and burlap pillows to chic tote bags and yarn wreaths, you are sure to find something to love.

Autumn & Everything After officially started when Kasey began posting pictures of her personal seasonal home decor on Facebook. Her friends (and their friends) fell in love and asked her how much she was selling the beauties for. With much coercion from her friends, she opened her Etsy shop. Autumn & Everything After has been featured at all five Homespun Chic Marketplace events and she’s looking forward to seeing you on Sunday, December 9.

What is one of your favorite quotes, song lyrics or Bible verses? “Learn the scripture, love the author, live and die for both.”

What’s your favorite crafting snack? Popcorn & M&M’s with a Diet Coke.

Besides crafting, what other things do you like to do? I am a huge fan of blogs, however I, myself am not a blogger.  My favorite day is Thursday because that is when one of my all time favorite blogs (www.theshabbycreekcottage.com) has a linky party.  I love seeing what other projects fellow “crafters” are working on.  I also admit I have a slight obsession with Pinterest.

If you could learn to do anything, what would it be? I would like to learn how to do graphic design and maybe take a course in Adobe Illustrator.

If you had to only work on one project for the next year, what would it be? I’d love to finish my gallery wall in my house…I have it all “pinned out”…I just need to make it happen.  I’d also like to make a pendant light made out of burlap.

What are you most looking forward to about the Homespun Chic Holiday Marketplace? Meeting other vendors and checking out all the other great items that will be showcased this year. I am also looking forward to another new venue.

What’s your favorite Central Florida attraction/landmark/sight? Does Hobby Lobby count?

What’s something you’ve done that you think no other vendor has done? I have painted an entire wall in my home office with black chalkboard paint.  I thought, I will either love it or hate it.  If I love it then its worth the leap, if I hate it, its nothing that 10 coats of primer can’t fix.

Bijoux & Bon Bons
shop | facebook

From making woven potholders when I was seven years old to getting caught up in the scrapbook craze in my college years, I’ve always enjoyed being crafty and creative.  After taking a class at local craft store with my dear friend Kimberly of whimZy, I embarked on a new adventure of creating and selling handcrafted jewelry and accessories.

While my shop’s name pays homage to my affinity for the French culture, my items reflect my eclectic taste. From more traditional beaded necklaces. earrings and bracelets to “upcycled” Scrabble Tiles and bottle cap pendants, my shop has something for everyone!

I am very excited to be participating my fourth Homespun Chic Marketplace!

Spring 2012 Vendor Feature: MES Couture

MES Couture
shop | facebook

I have been crafting since I could use a crayon, and I have been specifically crafting jewelry for the last 6 years. This past year I have turned this hobby into a small part time business. While not working full time as a veterinary technician you can find me in my craft room. It is my number one way to relieve stress! (Give me a pair of needle nose pliers and I am a happy girl.) Fun fact – profits from my business are going towards my continued education – veterinary school to be exact.

What is one of your favorite quotes, song lyrics or Bible verses? At the moment– “Don’t be afraid to give yourself everything you’ve ever wanted in life.”

What’s the last great book you read? The forgotten garden by Kate Morton (read it, it’s thrilling!)

What’s your favorite thing about summer in Florida? Fishing with my family!

Besides crafting, what other things do you like to do? Besides crafting I love veterinary medicine, reading, drinking tea, biking, and hanging out with my two precious dachshunds! 🙂

Spring 2012 Vendor Feature: SEW BLESSED BY DIANA

Sew Blessed By Diana
shop

My name is Diana Scianimanico and I am a 25 year old stay at home mom of two precious daughters. My oldest is five, and my youngest is two, and they are the biggest blessings God could ever give me. They are best friends, and they teach me so much about life, patience, and growth. My husband and I have been married 3 years and I could not ask for a better spouse. He is the rock of our family, and my best friend. I have been crafting for less than a year now. I guess I needed to find myself a little hobby once I quit working, and one day I decided to borrow my grandmother’s sewing machine. I guess the skill was in my blood, because a couple weeks later, I was self-taught and making tons of things for my girls and for around the house. It was later that I was led to open my own Etsy shop. I have not been very successful in the online selling, but I know once my name is exposed, the business will pick up. Sewing is really a hobby of mine anyways, and I do it just for fun! My specialty is the crayon roll. My girls were in desperate need for one of these, or should I say my purse and all of it’s contents were in need of one! I began making aprons after I developed an obession with buying them, and of course the sock monkeys were my children’s ideas. The first sock monkey I made has been fully loved on and has just reccently went in to surgery from excessive play! I also create children’s clothing from custom skirts, tailored pajama pants, and handmade graphic tees. My girls love all the fun stuff that they get when mommy has a creative burst of energy! I look very forward to being a part of this year’s Homespun Chic Marketplace, and it will officially be my first craft show! So please, stop on by, take a look around, and introduce yourself.

Get To Know Diana of Sew Blessed by Diana

What is one of your favorite quotes, song lyrics or Bible verses? 2 Corinthians 4:7-10 “But we have this treasure in jars of clay to show that this all-surpassing power is from God and not from us. We are hard pressed on every side, but not crushed; perplexed, but not in despair; persecuted, but not abandoned; struck down, but not destroyed. We always carry around in our body the death of Jesus, so that the life of Jesus may also be revealed in our body. For we who are alive are always being given over to death for Jesus’ sake, so that his life may also be revealed in our mortal body. So then, death is at work in us, but life is at work in you.”

What’s your favorite thing about summer in Florida? Taking my girls to the beach! We love to take the 45 minute drive over to Melbourne and just waste the day away in the sun, sand and salt! I can’t think of a better way to spend time with my children.

What’s the last great movie you saw? Book you read? The movie Limitless starring Bradley Cooper. I can’t explain too much about it, but all I can tell you is it’s a must see! It’s probably my favorite movie of all time.

What’s the #1 played song on your iPod? Right now I am really into The Black Keys, Crash Kings, and my old-time favorite, Deftones. It really depends on my mood what I listen too. I have a different genre for every activity that I do on a daily basis. Heavy rock for long distance driving, smooth indie for cleaning the house, upbeat rock for running, and I confess I like to listen to European Indie/Folk when I need some chill time. I don’t think there is a specific song that is my number one, I like variety!

Spring 2012 Vendor Feature: Saee Designs

Saee Designs
shop | facebook

Hi there. It’s Tiffany Brassard of Saee Designs and Emma’s Pettis. I have included three photos–one is my family: my inspiration and my reasons for needing a hobby. LOL! And I included a picture of my jewelry display and one of my pettis in action!

I started making jewelry about 8 years ago when I saw a necklace in a movie and really, really wanted it. I found it online for $175. So I found the stones and I made it! An obsession was born. I am a stay at home mom and making jewelry and sewing has saved me (and maybe my kids). I love creating new and unique pieces. Almost every piece is one of a kind. You can find me sitting at my work table several times throughout the day making whatever creation is fighting to get out of my head. I have a relationship with every piece I make. I find myself utterly surprised when certain pieces don’t sell as soon as I list them.

What’s the #1 played song on your iPod? Alphabet Pony ~ The Kills

What is one of your favorite quotes, song lyrics or Bible verses? “Be nice, for everyone that you meet is fighting a harder battle” – Anita Roddick

What’s your favorite crafting snack? Sour Cream and Onion pringles

Besides crafting, what other things do you like to do? ~ Is there anything else? Umm…hate to be cliche but when I get freetime from crafting I hang with my kids.

If you could learn to do anything, what would it be? Metal smithing

If you had to only work on one project for the next year, what would it be? Creating a foundation for non-surgical scoliosis treatments.

What are you most looking forward to about this Spring’s Homespun Chic Marketplace? Hanging out with Amy whilst doing something other than a WOD!

What’s your favorite Central Florida Food Truck? I have never eaten from one :/

What’s your favorite Central Florida attraction/landmark/sight? Jo-Ann’s Count? No, well then I guess it’s Epcot.
