Spring 2012 Vendor Feature: ADDY&TABBY

Addy&Tabby
shop | facebook

Addy&Tabby is a collection of custom, handmade, unique & stylish girls clothing. My pieces are modern, sassy, sometimes a little funky and very fun. I am the sole owner of Addy&Tabby and create each and every piece with love and care.

A year and a half ago I decided to leave my job in corporate America as a web designer and pursue my passion. I was no stranger to a sewing machine but I had never sewn children’s clothing before. I was terrified and thrilled all at the same time! Its been a wonderful journey to get to where I am today. I’ve met so many amazing and inspiring people along the way…. I can’t wait to see what the future holds.

What’s the #1 played song on your iPod? Anything Adele. 🙂

What’s your favorite crafting snack? Ice cold green tea, I tend to drink a LOT when I’m working.

If you could learn to do anything, what would it be?  I enjoy so many forms of art, but dance has a special place in my heart. I attend many performances by the Orlando Ballet through the year. I can’t wait to see Black Swan in a few weeks!

Besides crafting, what other things do you like to do? I’m a homebody. I love to work out in the yard and decorate my home. I follow Ana White, she is a furniture DIYer, and I’ve got a very long to-do list!

If you had to only work on one project for the next year, what would it be? My kids’ rooms. They have elaborate bedroom themes selected and completing them is going to take quite a bit of time, not to mention a lot of mommy’s crafting and decorating skills. It would be amazing to just devote my time for the next year to their spaces!

Spring 2012 Vendor Feature: BIJOUX & BON BONS

Bijoux & Bon Bons
shop | facebook

From making woven potholders when I was seven years old to getting caught up in the scrapbook craze in my college years, I’ve always enjoyed being crafty and creative.  After taking a class at local craft store with my dear friend Kimberly of whimZy, I embarked on a new adventure of creating and selling handcrafted jewelry and accessories.

While my shop’s name pays homage to my affinity for the French culture, my items reflect my eclectic taste. From more traditional beaded necklaces. earrings and bracelets to “upcycled” Scrabble Tiles and bottle cap pendants, my shop has something for everyone!

I am very excited to be participating my third Homespun Chic Marketplace!

Spring 2012 Vendor Feature: SWEET SERAPHINA

Sweet Seraphina

I hail from both an art and business background where school was concerned, so creating Sweet Seraphina in 2010 was a natural transition for me. She has been a whirlwind ever since and always keeps me busy and constantly creating (and working!).

My shop features everything your little one needs to make them the most stylish kid on the block, from personalized bibs and burp cloths to tie onesies, pacifier clips, football bloomers and blankets to snuggle up with. I am so passionate about Sweet Seraphina and can’t wait to see how far she goes!

Holiday 2011 Vendor Feature: BEADS BY KATRINA

Beads by Katrina
facebook

Hello! This is Katrina from Beads by Katrina. I use polymer clay to make beads and then use those beads to make bracelets, necklaces, earrings, and keychains. For most of my beads, I use the millefiori technique which requires creating a design in a “cane” and then cutting thin slices off of the cane to place around a plain clay core bead. I have been working with polymer clay for over 8 years and enjoyed it so much that last year I decided to turn my hobby into a small business. I started participating in craft fairs and set up a Facebook business page and have been very happy with how my products have been received. I love creating new designs and mixing clay to make my own colors. Custom orders are my favorite because I am able to make beads that are unique for that customer and they will have a piece of jewelry that nobody else does! You can learn more about my work at www.facebook.com/beadsbykatrinaboutique.

If you could learn to do anything, what would it be? I would like to learn how to take better/more artistic photos of my products.

What are you most looking forward to about the Homespun Chic Holiday Marketplace? I am looking forward to sharing Beads by Katrina with more people and seeing all the wonderful products the other vendors have created.

What’s your favorite holiday beverage at Starbucks? (And, are you a fan of the red cups?!) Hmm, my all-time favorite Starbucks beverage is the iced mocha, but, for the holidays, I do enjoy the gingerbread latte. And, I love the red cups!

What’s your favorite Central Florida attraction/landmark/sight? I love Disney World!

Holiday 2011 Vendor Feature: Saee Designs

Saee Designs
shop | facebook

Hi there. It’s Tiffany Brassard of Saee Designs and Emma’s Pettis. I have included three photos–one is my family: my inspiration and my reasons for needing a hobby. LOL! And I included a picture of my jewelry display and one of my pettis in action!

I started making jewelry about 8 years ago when I saw a necklace in a movie and really, really wanted it. I found it online for $175. So I found the stones and I made it! An obsession was born. I am a stay at home mom and making jewelry and sewing has saved me (and maybe my kids). I love creating new and unique pieces. Almost every piece is one of a kind. You can find me sitting at my work table several times throughout the day making whatever creation is fighting to get out of my head. I have a relationship with every piece I make. I find myself utterly surprised when certain pieces don’t sell as soon as I list them.

Get To Know Tiffany of Saee Designs

What’s the #1 played song on your iPod? Awake and Alive, Skillet

What is one of your favorite quotes, song lyrics or Bible verses? “Be nice, for everyone that you meet is fighting a harder battle” – Anita Roddick

What’s your favorite crafting snack? Sour Cream and Onion Pringles

Besides crafting, what other things do you like to do? Is there anything else? Umm…hate to be cliche but when I get freetime from crafting I hang with my kids.

If you could learn to do anything, what would it be? Metal smithing

If you had to only work on one project for the next year, what would it be? Creating a foundation for non-surgical scoliosis treatments.

What are you most looking forward to about the Homespun Chic Holiday Marketplace? Getting to know my fellow Orlando homemade geeks better!

What’s your favorite Central Florida Food Truck? I have never eaten from one. :/

What’s your favorite Central Florida attraction/landmark/sight? Jo-Ann’s Count? No, well then I guess it’s Epcot.

Holiday 2011 Vendor Feature: whimZy

whimZy
shop | facebook

I love accessories; all types of accessories. Through whimZy I get to create the earrings, bracelets, necklaces and more that I’ve often thought would be ideal but could never find in the stores. I am constantly evolving my style and collection. I love finding new and innovative designs to share with all of you. I enjoy color and texture and try to incorporate them in bold ways into all of my pieces, whether classic or edgy in style.I enjoy getting dressed up for a night out as much as a casual afternoon of shopping and try to make an accessory to suit every need. I hope you enjoy checking out my creations as much as I enjoyed making them.

Get To Know Kimberly of whimZy

What’s the #1 played song on your iPod? Positive from Legally Blonde (the Musical) soundtrack

If you could learn to do anything, what would it be?  I’d love to learn to read, write and speak more languages.  At least 4: French, Italian, Spanish and German.

If you had to only work on one project for the next year, what would it be? This is cheating a bit because it would ultimately be lots of mini-projects that make up one big project BUT if I could only work on one thing for the rest of the year, it would be decorating my home.  Every time i think I’m almost done I come up with new ideas to add a little more flair and personality to this room or that.  I know it could definitely keep me busy!

What’s something you’ve done that you think no other vendor has done? I’ve appeared on Travel Channel and Disney Channel.
