Holiday 2012 Vendor Feature: SWEET SERAPHINA

Sweet Seraphina

183535_285824378190646_51819755_nAs a kid, my little hands and mind were always busy. You could often find me in my room cutting butterflies and ladybugs out of cardboard and painting them, or creating collages and gluing them to walls, tables, doors, or anything else that stood still.

Things aren’t much different now. My hands are always busy and it kills me to sit still most of the time. I love creating things that bring a smile to people’s faces or just make the world a bit prettier. I love making things for children because it is a genre of retail that everyone always seem to be so happy in, whether they are buying for their own children or for a friend’s.

Sweet Seraphina was created in 2010 and I can’t wait to see how far she goes! You can find Sweet Seraphina creations in Tugboat & the Bird in Winter Park, FL and probably hundreds of babies and kids around the world!

Get To Know Lindsay of Sweet Seraphina

What’s the #1 played song on your iPod? Ellie Goulding – “Anything Could Happen”. Love her!

If you had to only work on one project for the next year, what would it be? Probably children’s headbands. Kinda obsessed with them at the moment. Next month it will probably be a new obsession!

What’s your favorite crafting snack? Probably some sort of cereal w/ milk. I don’t think I’ve ever eaten this breakfast food at breakfast time. It’s usually a 3am snack.

What’s something you’ve done that you think no other vendor has done? I think my versatility is something different. From graphic design of onesie stickers to feather headbands or bibs, I liked to always try something new and different to keep myself motivated and creative.

Spring 2012 Vendor Feature: SNUGGLEBUG COLLECTION

Snugglebug Collection
shop | facebook

I’m the mother of three amazing little ones, and my husband and I couldn’t be happier. I love being creative! I opened my shop in October 2009 after several moms asked where they could get a baby sling of their own. I decided I needed to create a local marketplace for other moms. I began to grow my collection with my favorite test market: my own babies. I love providing other parents with stylish products that are practical and durable. It’s all about quality, style, and convenience ~ baby products that are as beautiful and unique as your little one.

Get To Know Christin of Snugglebug Collection

What is the #1 played song on your iPod? I love anything by Jesus Culture! I have a playlist called “Fav Christian” and it consists mainly of their songs. I love filling my house with worship music, and my little ones are starting to sing along now.

What is one of your favorite quotes? “Having a child is to forever watch your heart walk around outside of your body” – so true!!

What are you most looking forward to about this spring’s Homespun Chic Marketplace? I love the crowd this show draws. We get to meet our wonderful customers face-to-face. The interaction is so much fun.

What’s your favorite Central Florida sight? Being a growing family, my husband and I always try to find inexpensive or free activities that our little ones will love. We enjoy taking them to Crane’s Roost Park in Altamonte Springs. The kids enjoy playing by the fountain, running around on the grass, and making new friends. Each night, there is a fountain show that is choreographed to lights and music. This park attracts a lot of young families, and the kids have a blast. The best part – it’s absolutely free!

Spring 2012 Vendor Feature: PLUMEUPHORIA

Plumeuphoria
shop | facebook

Plumeuphoria became an overnight idea that I came up with after purchasing my first set of feathers. I instantly fell in love with the idea of “feather hair extensions”.

After several weeks of research, I realized that there weren’t any “feather hair extension” providers in Central Florida. I saw this as an opportunity to introduce this fairly new and growing trend to my area. As a full-time college student majoring in International Affairs (who knew nothing about owning her own business), I decided to take the risk and give it a try.

Although some people do not want to commit to feather extensions, I decided to incorporate other feather accessories as an alternative – earrings, necklaces, feather hair clips, and much more. I really enjoy what I do because it allows me to be creative.

My goal is to provide affordable feather accessories to the public. I hope to inspire many people who dream of having their own business. If an idea seems to consume your mind, make something of it!

Get To Know Nicole of Plumeuphoria

What’s the #1 played song on your iPod? Somebody That I Used To Know – Gotye

What is one of your favorite quotes, song lyrics or Bible verses? hmmmm.. I’m not quite sure. 🙂

Besides crafting, what other things do you like to do? Outdoor activities – camping, swimming, etc.

If you could learn to do anything, what would it be? To cook ha!

If you had to only work on one project for the next year, what would it be? I would focus on PLUMEUPHORIA since I juggle both my shop and being a full-time student it can be tough sometimes. I’d like to just focus primarily on my business.

What are you most looking forward to about the Spring Homespun Chic Marketplace? I am looking forward to networking with other crafty people and experiencing vending.

What’s your favorite thing about summer in Florida? The beach! I am always at the beach or the springs. I love water.

What’s the last great movie you saw? Book you read? I really liked the movie, “The Grey” although the ending wasn’t that great, but I thought it was a great movie overall.

What’s your favorite Central Florida Food Truck? I have yet to try one!

What’s your favorite Central Florida attraction/landmark/sight? The Winter Park area. I also enjoy the strip of Asian markets on Colonial – I love the strong cultural areas.

What’s something you’ve done that you think no other vendor has done? I’ve had several fashion bloggers wear my jewelry/accessories such as LE HAPPY, Shevah, Vintage Mavens, and others.

Dwight Howard: should he stay or should he go? Ehhh.. I’m not one to care much about sports 😛

Addy&Tabby is a collection of custom, handmade, unique & stylish girls clothing. My pieces are modern, sassy, sometimes a little funky and very fun. I am the sole owner of Addy&Tabby and create each and every piece with love and care.

A year and a half ago I decided to leave my job in corporate America as a web designer and pursue my passion. I was no stranger to a sewing machine but I had never sewn children’s clothing before. I was terrified and thrilled all at the same time! Its been a wonderful journey to get to where I am today. I’ve met so many amazing and inspiring people along the way…. I can’t wait to see what the future holds.

Besides crafting, what other things do you like to do? I’m a homebody. I love to work out in the yard and decorate my home. I follow Ana White, she is a furniture DIYer, and I’ve got a very long to-do list!

If you had to only work on one project for the next year, what would it be? My kids’ rooms. They have elaborate bedroom themes selected and completing them is going to take quite a bit of time, not to mention a lot of mommy’s crafting and decorating skills. It would be amazing to just devote my time for the next year to their spaces!

Through play with my children came the love of painting and ARTPLAY.  I am 37 years old, a wife and mother to two amazing children. They inspired me to begin ARTPLAY and I hope one day through my success to inspire them to follow their dreams. To do what they love and to love what they do so they can truly succeed and be happy.  My inspiration also comes from modern/graphic design, architecture and urban city landscapes.

Any word you can think of I can recreate into a beautiful, unique graphic word play painting. Example: INSPIRE, BELIEVE, LOVE, LAUGH, your child’s name, your favorite city, your favorite hobby.  Any size, any color combination. The possibilities are endless… Be inspired and bring your inner child out through my playful, whimsical paintings and graphic word play.
